Blue Sky Golf Mission Statement
The game of golf is steeped in tradition. Historically golf was enjoyed by gentlemen of great wealth and leisure, and only recently has the game become more accessible to gentlemen (and gentlewomen) from all walks of life. Courses today are plentiful, but in all-too-many cases the aesthetic quality of the venues and the time required to enjoy them-which serious lovers of the game find as important as the game itself-are elusive. An investment in a Country Club Membership and the reciprocal benefits that come with it are the only ways to ensure a golfing experience that will satisfy the true lover of the sport.
BLUE SKY GOLF TOURS has opened up to its Membership an affordable "country club experience" for anyone 18 years or older, regardless of skill level, who loves the beauty of the game and enjoys playing the great courses but hasn't enough leisure time to get tee times on Country Club and Resort Golf courses and just tee it up and play.
The MISSION of BLUE SKY GOLF TOURS is to DESIGN TOURNAMENT EVENTS to be played:
- At Country Club and Resort Golf locations typically not played on the average weekend round.
- With discounts on Golf tee-times and accommodations
- At a heightened "Speed of Play" (no 6 hour rounds)
- At on-going monthly intervals.
The Flight Self-Governing System
The key to the Blue Sky Golfing experience is its innovative Self-Governing Flight Playing System that will ensure fair and friendly competitiveness and brisk play. As an example: A-flight members (representing the highest skill level and knowledge of etiquette) will have "oversight" authority to move the group along (i.e., decide a ball is "officially lost" or determine if a player in the B, C, and D flights has achieved the maximum score allowed for each hole depending on their handicap index).
Handicaps
BLUE SKY GOLF TOURS will offer access to an official registered handicap administered by the GHIN/SCGA covering all of California. This fair and equitable system guarantees all members a chance at prizes culminating in an annual club championship to be held at different venues with cumulative competitions throughout the year..
Competition
Blue Sky Golf Tours is also about fun and friendly competition. There are many games involved within the game of golf itself, the wager being one, in keeping within the rules established by the GHIN/SCGA, to which Blue Sky Golf Tours is affiliated. Our games will feature Tournament style, individual play. In addition to the winners in each of the flights, we will reward Low Gross and Low Net in each tournament. Our winners will receive cash prizes, scrip and FREE golf.
